"And lo," said the tall masked figure, "this town crept away."
Ruby slowly opened her eyes. She expected she would see the
quiet sleepy town of Thadeus Lowe. What she saw was a desolate
wasteland; a sea of baby teeth upon a bed of clay and blood.
"This town crept away," she replied. She looked deep into the
dark empty sockets of the masked figure. She thought she could see
small shadows moving behind its twisted bird like features. "Twit Twoo,"
she said. The figure leant closer to her. It began to laugh. The laughter sounded
like a swarm of bees.
